مرسيدس-بنز تحتفل بمناسبة مرور 120 عاما على إنطلاق تسمية مرسيدس
عند ذكر سيارة مرسيدس-بنز تتبادر للأذهان مباشرة سيارة تحتوي على أحدث التقنيات ووسائل السلامة ومحركات مميزة ذات أداء عالي، تحتفل تسمية مرسيدس بمرور 120 عاما على إنطلاقها.
بدأت قصة اعتماد التسمية عندما أراد مستثمر نمساوي يدعى إيميل جيللينيك أن يثبت وجوده في عالم صناعة السيارات الذي كان حديث العهد في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر ومطلع القرن العشرين، تم ذلك عندما كان كلا من جوتليب دايملر وفيلهلم مايباخ يبحثان عن التمويل الكافي لتوسعة أعمال شركته “دايملر موتورز”، قرر المستثمر النمساوي أنه يجب أن يكون الإسم واضحا ومميزا من بين بقية علامات السيارات الأخرى وبالتالي تم اعتماد اسم مرسيدس وهو اسم ابنته بالأساس.
تميزت أول سيارة حملت هذه التسمية من خلال طراز “35 PS” والذي كما تشير التسمية أن المحرك قادر على انتاج 35 حصان عام 1901 وهو كان أمرا خارقا للغاية في تلك الفترة بسبب أن أقوى سيارة في ذات الحقبة كان محركها ينتج 10 حصان فقط.
المحطة البارزة الأخرى في مسيرة مرسيدس-بنز كانت عام 1909 حيث برزت الحاجة لوجود شعار يمكن من معرفة العلامة، تم تسجيل كلا من النجمة الثلاثية والرباعية ضمن حقوق الملكية لكن تم اختيار النجمة الثلاثية بشكل رسمي والتي ترمز لكلا من الأرض والماء والسماء علما أنه تم تغيير التصميم العام للشعار عدة مرات.
تم اعتماد تسمية مرسيدس-بنز عام 1926 وذلك بسبب الإندماج مع شركة كارل بنز وهي الشركة التي نالت براءة اختراع أول محرك احتراق داخلي عام 1886، تميزت الشركة لاحقا من خلال صناعة السيارة الخاصة بالزعيم النازي أودلف هتلر والتي كانت تحتوي على ميزات متفوقة للغاية بالمقارنة مع سيارات حقبة الأربعينيات من القرن الماضي.
بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية بدأت شركة مرسيدس-بنز بإستعادة مكانتها تدريجيا من خلال طراز 170 لكنه كان يحتوي على تقنيات اعتيادية بالمقارنة مع سيارات حقبتها، حقبة الخمسينيات تألقت النجمة الثلاثية من خلال سيارتها ذات الأبواب المجنحة “300SL” ومن ثم 300 SLR قبل أن تنسحب من مجال الرياضة الميكانيكية وتركز على تطوير سيارات الركاب المريحة والفخمة أيضا.
شهدت حقبتي الستينيات والسبعينيات تألقا لافتا لسيارات مرسيدس-بنز التي تميزت من خلال الجودة المميزة التي مكنت السيارة من السير لمسافة تزيد عن مليون كم بدون الحاجة لإجراء صيانة كبيرة جدا مما دفع العديد من الزبائن للإعتماد عليها كوسيلة نقل قادرة على تحمل القيادة لمسافات طويلة دون عناء.
لا تزال لليوم شركة مرسيدس-بنز تتمتع بمكانة مميزة في قطاع صناعة السيارات حيث أنها أيضا تمكنت من دخول قطاع السيارات الكهربائية من خلال العلامة الفرعية التابعة لها EQ والتي تمثلت من خلال طراز EQC والذي يؤكد مجاراة الشركة للتطورات كافة.
