بفضل بساطة مكونات نظام نقل الحركة الذي تتمتع به المحركات الكهربائية ساعد ذلك في التوسع بشكل كبير لإنتشارها وظهور علامات جديدة، خير مثال على ذلك هو نيكولا بادجر البيك اب الكهربائي بالكامل.
لا يزال نيكولا بادجر مشروعا اختباريا قيد التطوير من شركة نيكولا حيث ينتظر أن يتم الكشف بشكل رسمي عنه في شهر أيلول/سبتمبر لعام 2020 من أجل زيادة الخيارات أمام الزبائن الراغبين بالمزج ما بين العملانية والحفاظ على نظافة البيئة.
يستمد المحرك الكهربائي طاقته من بطارية ليثيوم-أيون بقوة 160 كيلوواط/ساعة، يساعد ذلك المحرك الكهربائي على انتاج 455 حصان ويمكن أن يرتفع ناتج القوة لغاية 906 حصان، في المقابل فإن عزم الدوران يصل لغاية 1329 نيوتن متر مما يساعد على توفير أداء مميز بالنسبة لمحرك كهربائي.
يعتمد مدى السير في نيكولا بادجر على خيار المحرك، الخيار الأساسي وهو الكهربائي لوحده يوفر مدى يصل لغاية 483 كم فقط فيما يوجد الخيار الذي يحتوي على مزيج ما بين المحرك الكهربائي وخلايا الوقود مما يوفر مدى يصل لغاية 966 كم وهو أمر جيد لمن يريد التنزه لمسافة طويلة.
تتضمن الميزات أيضا وجود مخرج طاقة بقوة 15 كيلوواط مما يساعد على تشغيل بعض المعدات التي تتطلب وجود تيار كهربائي بشرط ألا يتجاوز الجهد المقرر لذلك.
يغلب الطابع الشرس على الجهة الأمامية من البيك اب الكهربائي وذلك بفضل وجود الزوايا الحادة بها وأيضا وجود خطوط ليد رفيعة على الأطراف، يبرز أيضا مصباح ليد يمتد بشكل أفقي على الصادم الأمامي مما يساعد على توفير الإنارة المرغوبة.
الجهة الجانبية بدورها تبرز بفضل وجود الكاميرات الصغيرة التي حلت مكان المرايا التقليدية بجانب أقواس العجلات العريضة التي تساعد في زيادة الطابع الشرس للسيارة.
في المقابل تمتاز الجهة الخلفية من نيكولا بادجر بفضل وجود زوج خطوط ليد التي تمثل المصابيح الخلفية بجانب وجود اللون الأسود الذي يغطي الصندوق الخلفي للبيك اب والذي يمكن فتحه.
المقصورة بدورها تتميز من خلال وجود الشاشات المتعددة حيث جرى تخصيص شاشتين لعرض الصورة التي تنقلها الكاميرات ويمكن ملاحظتها على أقصى أطراف المقصورة، في المقابل يوجد شاشة أيضا خلف المقود تعرض كلا من السرعة ومدى السير المتبقي.
تبرز الشاشة الأكبر في لوحة القيادة الوسطية والتي تمكن السائق من التحكم بالعديد من الوظائف مثل إنارة المقصورة أو الترفيه أو حتى نظام التكييف وهي على غرار الشاشة التي تتوفر في طراز تسلا.
