جرى حديثا الكشف عن محرك أستون مارتن الجديد وهو محرك سداسي الإسطوانات ويتصل بمحرك كهربائي مما يساعد في توفير القوة المطلوبة عوضا عن الحاجة لمحرك كبير الحجم.
المرة الأخيرة التي قامت بها شركة أستون مارتن بتطوير محرك بالكامل وبشكل مستقل كانت عام 1969 أي قبل 50 عاما ومن ثم قامت بالإستعانة ببعض المحركات الأخرى مثل كوزوورث ومرسيدس-بنز، محرك أستون مارتن الجديد هو إثبات على مدى التطور الحاصل لدى الشركة.
يتكون المحرك الجديد من 6 إسطوانات بشكل V6 بسعة 3.0 ليتر ويتصل ببشاحن تيربو ومحرك كهربائي قابل للشحن الخارجي، لم يتم بعد التصريح عن أرقام ناتج الأداء بعد لكن من المتوقع أن تكون أرقاما لافتة بسبب أنه سيجري وضع المحرك داخل سيارة تمزج ما بين الفخامة والطابع الرياضي.
من ضمن الميزات التي يمتاز بها محرك أستون مارتن الجديد هو أنه تم تصميمه من أجل إمكانية وضعه في الجهة الأمامية أو الخلفية من السيارة دون أي عناء ممكن والفضل في ذلك يعود للحجم الصغير الذي يتمتع به كما يمكن أن تقوم بعض شركات السيارات الأخرى بالإستعانة به.
يبلغ وزن المحرك الجديد ما يناهز 200 كجم والفضل في ذلك يعود لإستخدام المعادن الخفيفة الوزن علما أنه تم اعتماد تسمية “Hot V” لهذه الفئة من المحركات والتي ربما ستظهر بشكل تجاري في طراز فالهالا عام 2022 .
للمقارنة فإن أقوى طراز حاليا لدى أستون مارتن هو DBS سوبر ليجيرا والذي يحتوي على محرك مكون من 12 إسطوانة بشكل V12 بسعة 5.2 ليتر ويتصل بزوج من شواحن التيربو، بفضل ذلك يبلغ ناتج القوة 715 حصان فيما أن عزم الدوران يبلغ 900 نيوتن متر.
عندما يسلك محرك أستون مارتن الجديد حيز الإنتاج فإنه بذلك تنضم أستون مارتن لعلامات السيارات الرياضية التي تنتج المحركات الهجينة على غرار كلا من بورشه “918 سبايدر” وفيراري “لافيراري” وماكلارين “P1” وأيضا لامبورجيني “سيان”.
قد يستغرب البعض من وجود محرك هجين داخل سيارة رياضية أو ربما خارقة حيث أن الغاية بالأساس من هذه المحركات هي المساعدة في توفير الوقود، الجواب هو توفير القدر الكافي من القوة بمجرد الضغط على داوسة الوقود حيث أنه من ميزات المحرك الكهربائي نقل القوة مباشرة للعجلات دون الحاجة لوجود علبة تروس ذات تصميم معقد.
