بالطبع الهدف من انتاج طراز ماك-إي هو الرد على تسلا موديل Y حيث أن شركة تسلا في المقابل تمكنت من لفت نظر العالم لإمكانية السيارات الكهربائية في تحقيق أداء رياضي مميز يوازي المحركات العاملة بالبنزين.
تتوفر السيارة بخيارين على صعيد البطاريات، الخيار الأول بطارية بقوة 75.7 كيلوواط/ساعة، يقوم هذا المحرك بإرسال طاقته للمحرك الموجود في محور العجلات الخلفي ويساعد في انتاج 255حصان وعزم دوران يصل لغاية 414 نيوتن متر ومدى سير لغاية 370 كم، في حال اختيار الدفع الرباعي فإن عزم الدوران يرتفع لغاية 515 نيوتن متر ومدى السير يصل لغاية 338 كم فقط.
الخيار الأقوى من البطاريات هو بقوة 98.8 كيلوواط/ساعة يتيح انتاج 460 حصان وعزم دوران لغاية 830 نيوتن متر، مدى السير يبلغ 370 كم وهو رقم متدني بالنسبة لقوة البطارية لكن ذلك بسبب التركيز على توفير طراز أداء عالي ويمكن تمييزه من خلال شارة GT.
