تم حديثا التأكيد على تأجيل معرض بكين للسيارات 2020 بسبب وباء فيروس كورونا لضمان عدم تعرض أي من الزوار أو الشركات المشاركة لأي مكروه قد يتعرضون له أثناء المشاركة.

يجدر الذكر أن فيروس كورونا تسبب في إلغاء 2 من معارض السيارات الهامة والحيوية وهما معرض جنيف وأيضا معرض أمريكا الشمالية “ديترويت” وهو ما أثار الجدل بشكل واسع حول الجدوى من تنظيم المعارض الدولية للسيارات حيث بدأ العديد من صانعي السيارات بالعزوف عن المشاركة بسبب التكلفة الكبيرة.
بالطبع نأمل أن تتم السيطرة على هذا الوباء الذي تجاوز عدد ضحاياه ما يفوق المليون فيما تجاوز عدد الوفيات حتى اللحظة 200 ألف حالة في كافة أنحاء العالم علما أن الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية تشهد حاليا زيادة كبيرة في أعداد ضحايا هذا الوباء فيما أن إيطاليا لا تزال تتصدر عدد حالات الوفاة.
بالطبع صناعة السيارات هي ليست الخاسر الوحيد من هذا الوباء حيث تم إلغاء العديد من الفعاليات الرياضية للحد من الإختلاط قدر الإمكان مثل توقيف العديد من مباريات كرة القدم وأيضا إلغاء أو تأجيل العديد من سباقات بطولة العالم للفورميولا1.
