تهدف مرسيدس-بنز EQB لإثبات مكانتها في فئة سيارات الدفع الرباعي الكهربائية المدمجة، كما أنه من المتوقع أن تتخذ مكانا وسطيا لها بين طراز EQA و EQC وهو ما من شأنه زيادة تمثيل النجمة الثلاثية في هذا القطاع.
ما يميز طراز EQB هو أنه يتخذ طابع سيارات الدفع الرباعي أكثر من طرازي EQA و EQC اللذان يتمتعان بطابع الكروس أوفر أكثر وهو ما يناسب أكثر من يريد المزج ما بين الطاقة النظيفة والتصميم التقليدي لأشكال الهيكل.
من ضمن التوقعات أن يستطيع المحرك الكهربائي انتاج 270 حصان وعزم دوران يصل لغاية 500 نيوتن متر وهو ما من شأنه توفير الأداء المناسب كما أن التقعات تشير لإمكانية القدرة على قطع مسافة 482 كم قبل الحاجة للشحن مجددا.
بجانب ذلك من المتوقع أن يتوفر خيار قابس الشحن السريع الذي يستطيع تزويد البطارية بأكبر قدر ممكن من الطاقة خلال أقل مدة زمنية ممكنة “75% من الطاقة خلال 25 دقيقة على سبيل المثال” وهو ما بات المعيار في قوابس الشحن السريع.
