تتوفر السيارة بخيارين من المحركات، الأول هو رباعي الإسطوانات بسعة 2.0 ليتر ويتصل بشاحن تيربو مما يساعد على انتاج 252 حصان وتوفير عزم دوران يصل لغاية 380 نيوتن متر، الخيار الآخر هو سداسي الإسطوانات يتصل بشاحن سوبرتشارجر بسعة 3.5 ليتر، ناتج القوة لهذا الخيار يبلغ 272 حصان و400 نيوتن متر من عزم الدوران.
تبرز الجهة الأمامية من هونكوي H9 من خلال التصميم الذي يشبه طرازات رولز-رويس وذلك من خلال المصابيح الأمامية الرفيعة العاملة بتقنية ليد بجانب شبكة التهوئة التي تحتل حيزا كبيرا من الصادم الأمامي بجانب وجود الشبكة السفلية لإضفاء طابع مميز للسيارة.
في المقابل ما يساعد في إبراز تميز الجهة الجانبية وجود خط الكروم في أسفل الجوانب بجانب وجود العجلات الكبيرة بقياس 20 بوصة مما يساعد على توفير الفخامة بأفضل صورة ممكنة.
المصابيح ذات التصميم العامودي هي السمة التي تميز الجهة الخلفية من هونكوي H9 كما يبرز الخط الأحمر الذي يصل بينها، في الأسفل يمكن ملاحظة مشتت الهواء والذي يحتوي على مخارج العادم المكون من الكروم.
من ضمن ميزات السيارة هو نمط الطلاء بلونين على غرار سيارات رولز-رويس حيث أنه يتم طلاء الجهة العلوية بلون مغاير بين كلا من الجهة العلوية والسفلية مما يضفي جاذبية خاصة للسيارة.
المقصورة تبرز من خلال وجود الجلد بكثافة على كلا من المقاعد ولوحة القيادة مما يضفي الفخامة المطلوبة لهذه الفئة من السيارات بجانب وجود الديكور الخشبي في لوحة القيادة.
