تمكنت هيونداي توسان حديثا من تحقيق إنجاز مميز يؤكد مدى جدارة شركة هيونداي بثقة زبائنها خاصة في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وهي أكثر الأسواق تطلبا بسبب تعدد أذواق الزبائن وهو بيع النسخة رقم مليون، العامل الأبرز الذي ساعد في زيادة انتشارها هو تقلب أسعار الوقود منذ عام 2004 مما دفع العديد من المستهلكين للتوجه لخيارات إقتصادية أكثر في إستهلاك الوقود وهو ما كانت تلبيه هيونداي.
هناك أيضا عامل آخر ساعد في بلوغ طراز توسان حاجز المليون وحدة وهو أن العديد من المستهلكين في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية باتو يفضلون خيارات الدفع الرباعي بكامل أحجامها وهو ما يفسر زيادة أعداد طرازات الدفع الرباعي من هيونداي حيث أنها قامت بإطلاق طراز باليسايد وهو من الفئة الكاملة الحجم القادرة على استيعاب 7 ركاب بكل راحة.
بدأ الجيل الأول المسيرة وذلك في الفترة ما بين 2004 ولغاية 2010 وتوفرت بخيارين للمحركات، الأول رباعي الإسطوانات بسعة 2.0 ليتر قادر على إنتاج 140 حصان فيما أن الخيار الأعلى هو سداسي الإسطوانات بوضعية V6 بسعة 2.7 ليتر وبقوة 175 حصان، الإندفاع كان إما من خلال العجلات الأمامية أو الأربعة، بجانب ذلك فقد تمتعت السيارة بمقصورة لائقة لمن يرغب بسيارة دفع رباعي تتمتع بسعر مدروس، بجانب ذلك فإن التصميم الخارجي لها كان مقبولا ويعكس بداية تطور التصاميم لدى الشركة.
الجيل الثاني من هيونداي توسان جرى انتاجه في الفترة ما بين 2010 ولغاية 2015، تمتع هذا الجيل بتصميم أكثر رياضية كما أنه شهد التخلي عن المحرك السداسي الإسطوانات لصالح الإعتماد على محركات رباعية الإسطوانات بتقنية GDI بسعة 1.6 ليتر بجانب وجود محركات بسعة 2.0 و 2.4 ليتر مما ساعد على توفير الأداء المطلوب لهذه الفئة من السيارات.
بدأ الجيل الثالث مسيرته اعتبارا من عام 2016 ولا يزال قيد الإنتاج إلا أنه من المتوقع إطلاق الجيل الرابع منه قريبا، يتمتع أيضا هذا الجيل بتصميم ذو طابع رياضي بجانب وجود عدة خيارات من المحركات بسعات 1.6 و 2.0 و2.4 ليتر مما يساعد على توفير القوة المطلوبة منها، في المقابل تتمتع المقصورة بتوفر أحدث التقنيات بها مثل شاشة نظام المعلومات القابلة للموائمةمع كلا نظامي آبل كاربلاي وأندرويد أوتو.
